My husband and I are walkers. We’ve been doing it for years. When our girls were little we had a treadmill. They can remember going to sleep to the sounds of machine guns or Remington Steele reruns each night depending on whose turn it was.
Our preference is to walk outside. As long as it is dry out, we go. If it’s cold we bundle up and have the streets to ourselves. During the long, hot Texas summers we go a little later and tough it out.
After a bout of sinusitis, tonight was my first walk in a couple of weeks. In spite of temperatures near 90 and a lot of pollen (the cars all look yellow!), it was great to be back on the road. We had a chance to discuss our days and the future. We checked for turtles in the creek and noted houses new on the real estate market. It was good to be on the road again.
What a wonderful routine you have. Good for you on your own and good for you together.

A walk can make precious memories! My husband and I walk together, and we hold hands and talk. 🙂

Love this – we are also walkers. I did a long walk tonight but I am in Minnesota – no pollen yet and just 43 degrees – felt wonderful after our winter.
